Question 1. What do think is good about the area?

A reasonably wide range of accessible shops, restaurants and services.

Question 2. What do you think is less good about the area?

The whole high street looks a bit down-at-heel. Too many nail bars, coffee bars, pound shops, cheap fashion outlets and betting shops.

Question 3. What would you like to see to improve the area?

More street trees and planters; pavement café; wine bar (the old Grouts would have been brilliant); delicatessen; more up-market and individual shops generally, like at Muswell Hill

Question 4e. Specific aspacts – type and range of shops

More individual shops, like at Winchmore Hill and Muswell Hill. Better clothes stores. The opening of Waitrose was a big improvement

Question 4f. Specific aspects – amount and use of pavement space

The look of the pavements is spoilt by all the chewing gums marks and people spitting – disgusting!!

The wider parts of pavement could be used for more floral displays. The displays either end of the high street, at Hedge Lane and the Triangle badly need re-doing and improving

Question 4g. Specific aspects – the Triangle public space

The loss of the beautiful old tree at the Triangle has left a terrible gap, both visually and emotionally.

Question 4h. Specific aspects – Greenery

Much more needed, with more imaginative planting design and good maintenance.
