Question 1. What do think is good about the area?

The parks and cafes in the local area

Question 2. What do you think is less good about the area?

The amount of rubbish, the state of the various alley ways, which are covered with dog mess, the number of charity shops and the disrepair of many of the shops on the main road.

The number of youths standing about at the top of Hazelwood Lane and near MacDonald’s who are selling drugs – my own children have been asked to buy etc.

The number of mental health units that have opened up in the area, particularly around Fox Lane, Bourne Hill and Burford Gardens. There are lots of adults poorly supervised, wearing clothes that don’t cover them, talking to themselves, out late at night shouting in the middle of the road etc

Question 3. What would you like to see to improve the area?

Reduced shop rates to encourage more businesses to set up, more street cleaning and rubbish collections, improved paving and general walk ways. More police presence at night to prevent selling of drugs etc.

The use of the side roads as a cut through and the speed of cars is an issue for most of us living on these ‘rat runs’

the problem with parking, including the cost of parking which has gone up again.

Too expensive and very well controlled where there are cost /benefits for the council but parking on double yellow lines on side roads or double parking to collect from church is never controlled by parking wardens.

Question 4d. Specific aspects – look of the shops/architecture

The shop fronts should be maintained to preserve the Edwardian heritage that is the hall mark of the area.

Question 4e. Specific aspacts – type and range of shops

Reduce shop rates / rents – give incentives – reduce parking costs. No more betting shops

Question 4g. Specific aspects – the Triangle public space

What public space? It’s just a space
