Palmers Green Town Centre Improvement Project 2012: Survey responses

Question 1.  What do think is good about the area?

Good – attractive design and solid structure of the older buildings. Therefore  a good framework to build on.

Question 2.  What do you think is less good about the area?

Less good –shabby  shop fronts; lack of variety in retailers; general run down look and lack of quality

Question 3. What would you like to see to improve the area?

Improve  -stronger planning conditions so that owners cannot detract from architectural structure

Question 4a. Specific aspects – traffic

Traffic – on most stretches of roads there are sufficient crossing points. I don’t think it is necessary to reduce speed as green lanes is a main road

Question 4b. Specific aspects – parking

Parking – parking is a problem and perhaps it would be possible to have short stay parking the whole length of shops. No charge for up to 30 mins would keep availability

Question 4c. Specific aspects – clutter

Clutter – I’m sure this could be reduced

Question 4d. Specific aspects – look of the shops/architecture

Pavement  -quite sufficient except when scaffolding is in use

Triangle – this has no particular use – I can’t imagine people congregating there in view of passing traffic pollution

Question 4h. Specific aspects – Greenery

Greenery – this would make the area more attractive but must be regularly tended so that plants arte healthy and litter free. This would be costly but could be sponsored.

Other  -I would like to see palmers green updated.at present I hardly shop there  as it is most depressing
