Question 1.  What do think is good about the area?

Good – library: coffee shop (aroma). Remaining Victorian / Edwardian buildings

Question 2.  What do you think is less good about the area?

Less good – the general “look” of the area, it appears generally “scruffy”. Also the extent that shop owners have been allowed by the Council to alter the appearance of premises without due regard to historical appearances, such as Trimming shop (end of Devonshire Rd) (Grouts)

Question 3. What would you like to see to improve the area?

Improve  - take a look at (say) Cockfosters parade. Emulate the appearance.

Question 4a. Specific aspects – traffic

Traffic – traffic speed should NOT be reduced. Further congestion is NOT required.

Question 4b. Specific aspects – parking

Parking – council should try to attract shoppers – not deter them by lack of parking facilities. Why not use existing sites such as P Green town hall? Look for more.

Question 4c. Specific aspects – clutter

Clutter – try to reduce where safe to do so

Question 4d. Specific aspects – look of the shops/architecture

Look of shops – this has been sadly let down. In other places, shops etc must comply with existing architecture, certainly not change it by ugly hoardings or shop fronts. We should be emphasising the Edwardian / Victoria n architecture. Not covering it up or removing it.

Question 4g. Specific aspects – the Triangle public space

Triangle – this is nothing but a bus interchange, perhaps further planting tubs could be introduced, but may suffer damage by vandalism.
