Question 1. What do think is good about the area?

Parks and green spaces

Question 2. What do you think is less good about the area?

Range of shops – but in current climate, open shops are better than boarded up ones. Yes it would be great if we could replicate muswell hill/ crouch end high streets, but I’m realistic!

The dog poo (!) on the alleyways leading up from green lanes to fox lane. Truly disgusting – can’t it be policed better – CCTV and someone walking up and down fining the persistent culprits

Question 3. What would you like to see to improve the area?

More proper pedestrian crossings – dropped kerb islands in the middle of what are effectively fast dual carriageways are not sufficient or safe enough.

Good café/s in Broomfield (and Grovelands) park. Also a cleaner boating lake and ponds in Broomfield – stagnant water is never attractive

Question 4a. Specific aspects – traffic

Traffic is too fast with too few pedestrian crossings –

Too fast - especially green lanes, hoppers road, aldermans hill and bourne hill.

Pedestrians are not catered for well enough – why aren’t there more traffic lights with a green man for pedestrians. The most dangerous one is the green lanes, bourne hill crossroads (near yasar halim) – why oh why is there not a pedestrian crossing at the junction? Try doing it with kids – really dangerous.

Proper pedestrian crossing/s needed on Bourne Hill. This is school run territory – we walk and crossing that road is the most stressful aspect of the journey. Dropped kerb islands aren’t good enough as the traffic goes too fast on this road. My ideal would be 3 pedestrian crossings on Bourne Hill – one at the yasar halim crossroads, the other two spaced out as you go up the hill and one lollypop lady during school run times.

Question 4c. Specific aspects – clutter

Palmers Green does look rather tatty/dirty.

Question 4d. Specific aspects – look of the shops/architecture

Its not a highlight!

Question 4e. Specific aspacts – type and range of shops

See comment above.  Yes it would be great if there were more independent shops, but given current climate, this is difficult. No more nail bars, charity shops or “football supporters clubs” needed though!

Question 4f. Specific aspects – amount and use of pavement space

Wider pavements, allowing the cafes to have more outside seating would be great.

Question 4h. Specific aspects – Greenery

Good that council planted trees along green lanes, but why doesn’t it look after the saplings? Lots need retying to their stakes for example.
