Question 1.  What do think is good about the area?

  1. You can generally buy almost everything you need in palmers green high street
  2. 2. The street trees are nice – although the leaves are not cleared in the autumn often enough

Question 2.  What do you think is less good about the area?

Litter – especially outside the Fox and chewing gum on pavement

Dog shit along the 500 year old footpath from fox lane to green lanes

Many paving stones are cracked and can trip people

Side streets need gritting in snowy weather

Question 3. What would you like to see to improve the area?

A good clean up and power wash (in Italy the street cleaners come every day early in the morning. In Paris there is also a daily street wash programme))

Traffic- too fast especially on Aldermans hill! Please try again to get a 20mph on the residential roads ie both sides of fox lane – straight link roads encourage speed!

Parking – what do palmers green  will do for the Olympic?

Question 4c. Specific aspects – clutter

Clutter – there is a tall black pole outside the TSB bank in Green Lanes that is in the way and difficult not to bump into. Remove some old lamp posts etc.

Question 4d. Specific aspects – look of the shops/architecture

Look of shops – wasn’t the architect named Sykes? He designed well. It would be good to restore that beautiful frontage on the old Grouts. It is beautiful also the rounded glass at the barbers near hedge lane and to the antique shop next door.

Type of shops – more gayety and colour, flowers, lights, music

Question 4f. Specific aspects – amount and use of pavement space

Pavement – remove all unnecessary  obstacles, old lamp posts ,  adverts

Triangle-

Greenery  -more the better
