While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.
Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.
For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.
Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
The Pinkham Way Alliance has issued the following message about what happened at last week's meeting of Haringey Council.
As Stephen Brice says, the new draft of the North London Waste Plan (PDF, 9MB) does include Pinkham Way in its list of proposed future waste sites - though it refers to the site as the "Friern Barnet Sewage Works" - something which has not existed for a very long time!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!.......
These are the new shopfronts in original style that were recently installed in Myddleton Road, Bowes Park, replacing the unattractive frontages that had been fitted to these shops.

The organisers of the Save the Green Dragon campaign have reported that their email account has been attacked by hackers and are asking supporters to resend messages. It is unclear whether this is an example of the "normal" type of Internet crime or a deliberate attempt to sabotage the campaign.
During June hackers broke into the email account and diverted messages sent to the campaign to another email address that the hackers control. As a consequence, the Campaign did not receive.......

This is a very serious turn of events, and on Tuesday 14 July, we must briefly attend a council meeting in Wood Green to let Haringey know how angry we are.

The driver of this car had a lucky escape just before 4am this morning when he managed to overturn his vehicle in Park Avenue (Palmers Green), close to the junction with Green Lanes.
Francis Sealy lives close by and heard an "almighty crash". He says that the driver appeared to have hit at least two cars parked along Park Avenue. Fortunately, he was wearing a seat belt.
