The London Society is inviting people aged 30 and below to join a Young Londoners' Advisory Group and play a part in influencing how future generations experience London.
The London Society's reasons for setting up the new advisory group are explained on its website:
“Whether it’s the cost of renting a flat, the reliability of your commute, the future of your local high street, or access to culture, green space and opportunity, decisions made today will shape how young Londoners experience the city for years to come.
“Yet too often, younger voices are underrepresented in the conversations that influence London’s future.
“At the London Society, we believe London works best when more people can take part in shaping it. As an independent civic society and charity, our role is to help Londoners understand how the city works and create spaces where different perspectives can be heard, challenged and explored.”
“That is why we are launching a new Young Londoners Advisory Group.”
The London Society describes itself as a “forum for debate on the future of London for all who love London” which strives to be representative of the whole city and its communities.
Membership of the Society is free for under-30s for two years, giving access to talks, tours, debates, visits and “opportunities to meet people who care about London’s future”.
