Enfield Voluntary Action has announced that six community groups based in the borough have been awarded funding from Trust for London to run a project aimed at improving the lives of people in temporary accommodation.
Congratulations to All People All Places, North Star Community Trust, Hearts and Helpers, Diversity Rights, Cooking Champions and Dalmar Heritage and Family Development, the six community groups that have secured funding from Trust for London to help them improve the lives of Enfield residents living in temporary accommodation. Most grants were for around £10,000.
The funded groups will together make up the Enfield Temporary Accommodation Forum. They have now begun training together, in partnership with Enfield Voluntary Action (EVA) and campaigns expert Albinia Stanley, and will develop projects to carry out research, spotlight the issues and campaign for change.
Trust for London grants manager Susie Dye said, "We were encouraged by the Enfield groups’ response to this funding opportunity. The strongest applications went beyond advice casework to explore project ideas, and showed they were motivated to use stories and experiences to press for change. We’re looking forward to working together on this critical issue.”
