Council proposing to reduce number of childrens' centres

Enfield Council is consulting residents about its proposals to reduce the number of children's centres. Like other council services, spending reductions are required because of severe reductions in central government funding.  The council's budget for children's centres is reducing from £1.6m to £1.03m per year. PG play street hits the headlines

Palmers Green's longest running Play Street was in the news again this week, though for the wrong reason.  An ugly incident when a non-resident drove "at some speed" past barriers in Devonshire Road designed to protect children from cars was picked up in this week's Enfield Gazette.  The aggressive driver even returned later and the police were called. However, the organisers of the play street say that this is only the second time that anything similar has happened in the three years.......

Unplugging our kids

Launch of the Big Friendly Read 2016

Enfield Libraries are launching the 2016 Summer Reading Challenge - The Big Friendly Read - on the green outside Enfield Town Library on Saturday 16th July.  And they are still looking for volunteer Summer Reading Ambassadors.
