Cycle Enfield - part of a national strategy to improve our wellbeing

A105 cycle lanes scheme: Road safety audit published

28 July 2016

The Stage 1 Road Safety Audit for the A105 cycle lanes scheme has now been published.  The auditors, from Transport for London (TfL), have indicated that they are satisfied with the responses to all the safety issues that they raised.  Unfortunately, the auditors did not comment on hazards for pedestrians crossing roads at the Green Lanes/Hedge Lane/Bourne Hill junction, presumably because their terms of reference state that "Safety Audit is not intended to identify pre-existing.......

A tour of Waltham Forest’s Mini Holland

06 July 2016

The debate about Enfield’s Mini Holland rages on via social media and the local press – will there be gridlocked roads? Vacant businesses? Cyclists mowing down the elderly at bus stops? Meanwhile, some of us from Better Streets for Enfield and Enfield Cycling Campaign decided it would be easiest just to go and look at a Mini Holland that’s already in progress. Waltham Forest is, after all, next door to us, and ahead of Enfield in completing the work.

The Enfield Cycling Conference

15 April 2016

Clare Rogers shares her thoughts about last week's Enfield Cycling Conference This conference at Enfield’s Dugdale Centre on Friday 8 April left me feeling both inspired and daunted – inspired because we were shown what is possible and already being done in the Netherlands – and daunted because Enfield has such a long way to go.  This post tries to give a taste of what was said at the conference. For more in-depth information, you can find links to each presentation.......
