36 hours to make Moments that Matter for London's most unwell babies and children

Our specialist nurses and carers are dedicated to creating Moments that Matter for London's most unwell babies and children. Now we need your help. The Noah's Ark community is coming together in a unique, unforgettable way to raise £1.2m - the annual cost of Noah's Ark's specialist nurses and carers - our heroes. Every donation given in these 36 hours will be doubled, thanks to a matched funding pot given by a small number of the charity's benefactors.

Report shows value of telephone befriending during lockdown

22 August 2020

A recently published report into telephone befriending in Enfield during lockdown provides a snapshot of the issues affecting residents in the 'vulnerable' and/or 'shielding' categories and shows the value of telephone befriending and of other services that were provided, such as delivery of food and medicines. Most call recipients were pleased to receive the calls and a core continued to receive these throughout the period, not missing a call. The report recommends that the council should be ready to reactivate the service in case there is a second wave or a local lockdown.

Meals on Wheels for the 21st Century

01 August 2020

A new report from Sustain and London Food Link, funded by Trust for London, looks at how services that ensure older adults can access meals in their homes are run, both before the Covid-19 pandemic and during it, across London. In the capital, adequate provision of meals on wheels services were not in place prior to lockdown. Where these exist, many face the possibility of being cut, annually. New, innovative services were being established in a few locations even before Covid-19, demonstrating that viable, affordable and effective solutions exist that could improve lives for thousands of older and disabled adults. During the lockdown, many innovative community solutions arose, which show great promise for the future if they are supported and funded.
