'Time is running out for meaningful discussions' of Enfield Local Plan
The draft Enfield Local Plan envisages large scale housebuilding on land allocated to the Green Belt. Last year, after more than 4000 people signed a petition (see the image above), the council agreed a 12-week period during which councillors would engage with their constituents to discuss the draft plan ahead of its debate by Full Council. Half of that period has now gone by with a large majority of councillors not having set up ward forums about the plan. Now Action for Enfield's Future is urging councillors to arrange meetings and demanding that the council publish the data that supports the council's plans, but that even councillors have not yet seen.

Friends of Broomfield Park (FoBP) have been busier than ever over the past year and are helping make big improvements to the park, and to the lives of local people, in many different ways. Never ones to rest on their laurels, the Friends have now launched an online survey seeking the views of park visitors to help them make decisions on future projects to develop and improve amenities and activities in Broomfield Park.

Karl Brown reports on the meeting that he chaired on Tuesday:
"In this latest meeting we were joined by police responsible for areas outside of PG as well as Bambos, our MP. The extra knowledge and reach proved useful.
"This was our longest meeting by far to date with a lot of ground covered and what will hopefully be positive change from some of the resulting actions.
"After the last CAPE, PG has been the focus of undercover activity plus many visits from the Tactical Support Group (TSG). Some may have noticed the latter’s large blue vans but hopefully no one noticed the former. "
