The long awaited Community Hub at Firs Farm opened its doors to the public for the first time on Friday morning, providing food, drink and a warm welcome for visitors to this attractive and family-friendly area of grassland, trees, hedgerows and by now well established wetlands.

Children's safety: Palmers Green to use the CHIPS scheme
Karl Brown reports that the Palmers Green Ward Panel has agreed to introduce a CHIPS scheme to protect children. This is a charity-based scheme which provides temporary safe spaces kids can access if they are feeling intimidated, unsafe, or vulnerable.

'Portrait of Southgate' artists selected
An artists' brief for creation of an art trail in Southgate town centre, under the title A Portrait of Southgate, was published last October. The names of the two successful artists were published on 23rd January: Alex McHallam and Liz Tiranti. They will produce mosaics for installation at three locations.

"Tuesday’s PG Forum at the Ruth Winston Centre saw PG Ward Sgt Lamar answering questions and concerns regarding local crime. On the bright side, all the issues raised had already been brought forward by PG community reps at previous crime specific PG Panels (CAPEs) with remedial actions underway. Nonetheless, I think it worth emphasizing some of the issues..."
