do you love the tin tabernacleNorth London Samaritans have got through the first stage of a submission to the Heritage Lottery Fund to restore the "Tin Tabernacle" in Bowes Park for use as a call centre and community centre.  To succeed in Stage 2 they need to prove that there is sufficient demand from community groups and other organisations who would wish to hire such a hall.

The "Tin Tabernacle" is otherwise known as Shaftesbury Hall and is situated in Herbert Road, very close to Bowes Park station.  Originally a church, it has been owned by North London Samaritans since 1977, but has been out of use since 2012 because it has become unsafe.

The Samaritans have set up a short online survey using Survey Monkey and are asking any groups or organisations to fill it in so that they can assess the level of demand for such a facility, what uses it might be put to and how much they might be able to earn by hiring it out.
