Our youth centres offer excellent volunteering opportunities for adults aged 18 and over.

If you can commit to a 6 to 12 month period at an after school, evening or weekend session we can help you gain valuable skills and experience of working with young people aged 11-19 (and up to 24 with a learning difficulty or disability).

Some of the youth activities you would be assisting with include:

  • sport and recreation
  • dance and music
  •  health education
  •  personal development and mentoring

We will provide you with the necessary training and may pay for your travel expenses too.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering means that you are giving your time to help others and this alone is a great reason to do it, but what's in it for you? People report many different ways in which they gain from volunteering. Here are just some of the benefits:

  • develop self-confidence
  • develop communication skills
  • sense of achievement
  • sense of self-worth
  • learn more about others
  • learn more about yourself
  • meet people
  • have fun
  • looks great on your CV
  • do something positive with your time
