Two decades have shot by since the Nightingale started out on its mission of providing emotional, physical and practical support for people affected by cancer - not just cancer sufferers and survivors, but their families, friends and colleagues too. And cancer isn't over when treatment finishes, it can leave patients and families with lasting physical and psychological effects, so the charity needs to be there to help them cope with and come to terms with their changed lives. All services are provided free by a team of qualified professionals and volunteers.
