Residents in Grange Ward are being sent a questionnaire by the Enfield & North Policing Team which is designed to measure public support for a proposal to install closed circuit TV cameras in police vans. As the subject of this questionnaire is clearly relevant throughout the Metropolitan Police area, we are reproducing it here and suggest that responses should be sent to the Safer Neighbourhoods Team for whichever ward you live in (see the list of teams on this page).

We've been asked to promulgate the following warning from the Nationa Fraud Intelligence Bureau:
Summary Action Fraud has received a large number of reportsfrom victims who have been defrauded when attempting to purchase items on online shopping and auction websites. Reporting shows that internet fraudsters are increasingly exploiting victims’ readiness to sign for deliveries before checking the contents, which causes them difficulties when they later attempt to dispute the transaction........
At the initial meeting of the Park Avenue and New River Crescent Neighbourhood Watch earlier this year one of the main topics discussed was alleged criminal and other anti-social behaviour in the mews/service roads/back alleys behind Green Lanes - specifically those on either side of Park Avenue. People living nearby expressed frustration with their attempts to get action from the Council or Police.

Over the past month thieves have stolen original Edwardian tiles from the front garden paths of four houses in Osborne Road in Palmers Green. All the thefts occurred overnight.
Tina Babbs, Coordinator of the Osborne Road Residents Association, is asking anyone seeing or hearing anything which might help find the thieves or prevent further thefts to inform the police by phoning 101 and quoting reference CAD 5215 5/7........
The new neighbourhood watch for Park Avenue and New River Crescent got off to a lively start on 3rd June, when around 30 residents attended a meeting at the Fox, set up at the initiative of Pamela Ramtohul, a relative newcomer to Palmers Green, who in preparation for the meeting called at every house in Park Avenue and most addresses in New River Crescent. She told the meeting that she had become aware that there was a proper community spirit in the streets, though less so towards the Green.......

A new neighbourhood watch scheme is being set up, covering all houses in two Palmers Green streets - Park Avenue and New River Crescent.
The new watch is the brainchild of Park Avenue resident Pamela Ramtohul, who is inviting everyone living in the two streets to a meeting on Tuesday 3rd June (7.30-8.30pm in the function room at the rear of the Fox pub). Jennifer Arkwright, the Police Community Support Officer for Palmers Green, will also be at the meeting, where she will listen to what.......
