Dora Louca: My Point of View

KTNV4699 painting by dora louca at southgate art gallery

I found myself at an early stage to be interested in empty houses without human figures, only their traces. In the next stage, I put faces behind windows and doors. Behind doors, windows there is always something hiding, something that cannot be seen from the first sight. A child’s, man’s or woman’s story that needs to be told, and not be forgotten. My next step: Figures on a stage, like actors playing their roles, without superfluous objects. Minimal and meaningful.

My inner necessity to "escape" from the interior places, exploring new horizons; I started to capture my point of view of what is mesmerizing my interest. That can be anything that takes me out of my comfort zone. Observing the moment, which will be lost in oblivion if it is not captured. The power is in my hands, no matter what. In the next stage, what I have in front of me is changeable, (shape, colour), which enables me to make it relevant or even irrelevant to the subject, according to what is on my mind. Intervening and changing the shape and the colour mostly, allows me to come closer to what I regard as an "ideal world".
