Help and advice

Healthwatch Enfield have published a new guide providing information about free local mental health resources for residents, carers and organisations.

The Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Guide was published by the local health service watchdog body on 9th December and can be downloaded from its website.

As the future of Healthwatch bodies throughout the country is in doubt (the government seems determined to abolish them, leaving the country without any independent bodies monitoring the NHS), I have also uploaded a copy of the guide to this website in case the official link becomes unavailable.

The new publication follows last year's Young People's Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Guide.

The new guide is a comprehensive resource designed to connect people with the services, crisis support, and community networks that can help them stay resilient and informed. Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, or feeling lonely, the guide provides immediate access to the support you need.

Inside the guide, you’ll find information about:

  • Free mental health services in Enfield, including counselling, therapy, and crisis intervention.
  • Local social groups, workshops, and wellbeing activities to help you connect with others and build resilience.
  • Advice and guidance for carers, parents, older adults, and neurodivergent individuals.
  • Multilingual support for diverse communities, ensuring everyone can access help in a way that works for them.

This guide is especially valuable for those facing long waits for NHS services or anyone looking for early support to prevent their mental health from worsening.
