Chris Horner of Southgate District Civic Trust is asking for local community groups to help make Southgate Civic Week a great success.

southgate civic week 2017

This year the size and number of events has expanded ; there are now 33 events, as so many community groups have engaged with this community event .

Other groups are invited to join in by promoting their group or event in the Southgate, Cockfosters,Winchmore Hill, Oakwood and Palmers Green areas.

I attach a copy of the programme and the poster, and would be pleased if you are able to distribute these as far and wide as possible.

The online programme is available via the Civic Week 2017 tab in the attached programme and is being updated as further groups engage with us.

Each community group is requested  to publicise Civic Week on their own Web site events pages and by distributing the attached programme.

During Civic Week we will be based  at 6 Station Parade, Southgate Underground Station, a vacant shop unit made available for Civic Week by Transport for London.

We are now looking for  volunteers to help Southgate District CivicTrust man the shop unit  from 10th to 18th June.  If you are available and wish to give some time  could you let me know what time and which day, so that I can set up a rota.  We hope that volunteers from the various groups will help out in return for displaying details of their community group and distributing their marketing material at the shop unit.

The first Civic Week event will be the prize giving for the Southgate Photographic competition in the station shop.  Details and timing to be confirmed.

The final event will be the commemoration of Operation Squabble – more information to follow.  This will be part of Evensong in Christ Church Southgate from 6.30pm on Sunday 18th June.
