The Friends of Grovelands Park are looking for volunteers to help run a two-day event to celebrate the centenary of the park's opening. The celebrations, on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May, will begin with a re-enactment of the original 1913 opening ceremony, involving an Edwardian themed historical pageant.

In the park there will be exhibitions and displays as well as stalls selling food and drink. There will be music and view from grovelands house of grovelands park winchmore hill london n21
dancing, dog shows, sports displays and many other events all relating to the Edwardian origin of the park and the important part it has played in the lives of the local community over the years.

Other events will include art, music, dance, film, poetry, photography, historical talks, educational walks and talks, nature trails, children’s projects and a fair with a variety of stalls.

The Friends of Grovelands Park are appealing for help from volunteers to help run the celebration and are hoping that schools and community groups will join in the opening procession wearing costumes that will reflect the ten decades since the opening of the park.

For further details and continuing information about the celebrations, see the Grovelands 100 website.
