Food, drink, crafts and more return to the Sidings in Winchmore Hill between 10am and 3pm on Sunday 5th May, when the first in an occasional series of Love Your N21 Markets takes place.

The venue for the new market is 62 Station Road N21, right next to Winchmore Hill Station, on land that was once occupied by railway sidings in the days when coal and other goods were delivered to local areas by rail. Hence the name of the weekly Sunday market that was held there for several years, but unfortunately succumbed to the Covid pandemic in early 2020.

Sam, the local woman behind the new venture, says:

"I've walked past the Sidings time and time again and just thought, Why has no one started up the market yet? - so here I am doing it!!

"I have a bit of background in events, having run a number for school, church and most recently the PreLoved N21 car boot sale. My mum used to run events in Wales and I also have a small business, so between all of these things, I am doing it."

Sam plans to organise the market once every few months and is already working on the next date, which will be in July.

So far there are twenty stallholders confirmed, including Celtic Bakers, whose wide range of breads, cakes and pastries were a regular attraction at the old Sidings Market, and Winchmore Hill Supper Club, who on Sunday will be branching out into serving lunches.
