Election candidates' statements - fact-checked - in this month's Enfield Dispatch

This month's Enfield Dispatch provides an opportunity to find out about all local election candidates. It also introduces new ways for businesses and community groups to support our fledgling community newspaper. It should also be easier to pick up a copy thanks to the addition of three new newsstands.

The three centre pages of the December paper are devoted to pitches from all 15 candidates standing in the three Enfield seats - supplied by the candidates themselves, but "fact checked" by the journalists.

There's an encouraging increase in the amount of advertising in this issue, suggesting that the Dispatch is on the road to sustainability. The publisher has also introduced a second type of "membership". On top of the existing scheme whereby individuals can "join" for £3 or £5 a month, there is now an organisational membership scheme, in return for which organisations can have their logo printed in each issue and qualify for discounts of up to £40. The new newsstands are at Ponders End, Bush Hill Park and Cockfosters stations, joining existing stands in Edmonton Green, Southgate, Enfield Town and Palmers Green. You can see a complete list of pick-up points online.
