The Trent Park Museum Trust has announced the death of Fritz Lustig, the last of the "secret listeners", who collected invaluable intelligence by listening in to bugged conversations between German prisoners of war during World War 2. This once top secret intelligence gathering was carried out at three large country houses that had been requisitioned, one being Trent Park. The Broomfield House Trust has launched a crowdfunding campaign aimed at raising £10,000 to be used to restore a section of the Lanscroon murals that were salvaged from Broomfield House after the first fire in 1984. Council cutbacks "threatening the future of our built heritage"

Ahead of a speech in London on Tuesday 3rd October to an audience of heritage professionals, Ian Harvey, Executive Director of Civic Voice, has called for an end to the continued cutting of local conservation officers in local government and launched a survey to investigate the impact. Southgate originated as the "south gate" to Enfield Chase, the King's Hnting grounds. A timber lynch gate marks the southern entrance to Southgate. The Remembrance Garden Temple A campaign by the Friends of Broomfield Park to restore the Park's Remembrance Garden has finally succeeded. Enfield Council notified the Friends this week that the War Memorial Trust has agreed to a grant of £63,270 to the Council.
