It's about time Broomfield Park was given a positive recognition, and we have still a long way to go until more new ideas are put in place! Wildlife Pond is just the beginning, we need to make immediate new our burnt down Heritage building which has remained in a terrible state since for more then 20 years!

The House is so obviously the centrepiece of the park that local residents have been campaigning over many years to get it restored and reopened. In spite of setbacks, we haven’t given up. Please check out
www.broomfieldhouse.org
to see what is currently happening about Broomfield House and the associated stableyard.
Activity is being coordinated through the Broomfield House Partnership Board, which is chaired by Councillor Bambos Charalambous. The Friends of Broomfield Park and the Broomfield House Trust (which I chair) and Historic England (among others) are represented on the Board.
The Board meets next on 26 July, after which, and depending on the discussions, I hope to update our website and also post something on PGC.
This is a complex and expensive project, with no easy answers, but we are determined to push for the maximum public and community benefit.
The Trust is working in parallel on a bid for funds from the Heritage Lottery Fund for a digitised history of the House and local area, and for some trial reconstruction of sections of the Lanscroon Murals. The Trust is hoping to have a stall at the Palmers Green Festival to promote all this activity and engage directly with visitors.

"liner" aka mortar. We were warned....
We must thank the good Palmers (pilgrims) for their guidance and help. Thirteen they were and after drowning they took the bodies of the witches, tied great weights to them and sunk them in the lake of the Broomfield, there to stay drowned.
They told us to build mortar on top and then put more water on top of that.
Outstanding contingency planning by the Friends.
