Forum topic: Call to action to protect a local nature conservation site

As Karl says, the final, pre-submission consultation for the North London Waste Plan has started and will run until April 12th. After this, the plan will be submitted to the Planning Inspectorate and will undergo public examination later this year.

The sub-glacial progress of this Jarndyce and Jarndyce of the planning world - now 12 years old and still to be adopted - has already involved one failed effort in 2012, when the Inspector found the plan illegal and suspended the public hearings that examined the plan's soundness - after c 90 minutes!

Whilst that was all very dramatic, it meant that we never had the chance to bring forward all the evidence of Pinkham Way's unsuitability.

Six years down the road and so much more experienced and knowledgeable - with so much more evidence -we have a second chance at the public examination that is scheduled for autumn 2019. We're retaining planning consultants to represent us.
