Mayfield Tennis and Sports Club is promising a fun-packed day for the local community on Saturday 30th April.

Mayfield Charity Day is being run by the charity Bright Ideas for Tennis, which helps tennis clubs throughout the country promote themselves and raise funds for improvements. In this case, the money is earmarked for new courts. But the charity also requires that the events they organise leave a "legacy" for the local community, in particular helping disabled people engage in sport. In Mayfield's case the legacy will be disability tennis coaching, which the club hopes to start running in July or August, once enough coaches have been trained.

For tennis fans the big attraction will be a chance to "play with the pros" - former Davis Cup/ATP Tour players Luke Milligan and Danny Sapsforth (booking ahead essential). But there will be far more than just tennis on the agenda at the club's premises in Kenmure Gardens. In no particular order, these are some of the activities that people of all ages can take part in:

  • Boxfit with Ricky
  • Pickleball
  • Table tennis
  • Bouncy castle
  • Gymnastics (kids)
  • Fastest serve
  • Barbecue
  • Outdoor yoga
  • Raffle
  • Tea/coffee/cakes
  • Kids' games
  • Tombola
  • Drumming
  • Mosaics with Gaby
  • Mini tennnis
