Southgate District Civic Trust has won the 2016 Civic Day Award, awarded by the national charity Civic Voice for its "outstanding effort for Civic Day".

Civic Day has been held every summer since 2011 and so far has involved more than 1000 community events countrywide.  But Southgate District Civic Trust weren't satisfied with one day - instead they ran a whole series of events for "Southgate Civic Week", including two cricket matches, a street party for the Queen's birthday, an open-air concert, a specially written play featuring the Minchenden Oak, guided tours of Trent Park Mansion and, last but not least, a Teddy Bear's Picnic.

Next year's Civic Day will be held on Saturday 17th June.  If you'd like to be involved, contact .
