While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.
Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.
For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.
Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
The Save the Green Dragon Campaign is reporting that its demonstration outside the Civic Centre on Wednesday went well - they estimate that about 150 protesters turned out. They were able to deliver an open letter (see below) to the new Mayor, Councillor Patricia Ekechi, and to the many councillors who were there to witness her induction into office. Two local MPs were among the supporters - David Burrowes (Enfield Southgate) and Joan Ryan (Enfield North). As a result of their.......
The Save the Green Dragon Campaign is urging concerned members of the public to take part in a demonstration at 6pm on Wednesday, set to coincide with the signing in of a new Mayor of Enfield.
Support for the campaign has been expressed by, among others, the Mayor of London.

People concerned about the future of two local landmarks received a double blow this week, when Enfield Council notified campaigners that they had refused applications to register the Green Dragon in Winchmore Hill and the former university campus and mansion in Trent Park as Assets of Community Value (ACVs).
The campaigners had received wide support from both the general public and councillors from both parties for their efforts to return the Green Dragon to its former use as a pub and to.......

Enfield Council has written to businesses located along the A105 (Enfield Town-Bush Hill Parade-Winchmore Hill-Palmers Green) to reassure them that when implementing the "Mini-Holland" cycling scheme it will be taking account of their concerns about car parking, deliveries, bus services and accessibility for elderly and disabled customers.
The letter from the Council also promises special consultation events for businesses and outlines the remaining steps in the consultation and planning.......
Save Trent Park campaigners are warning that delay by Enfield Council in registering the Park's historic mansion as an Asset of Community Value is jeopardising its future. They fear that the former university campus might be sold to an private developer at any moment, before registration is complete.
Registration as an ACV would give the campaign a six-month breathing space, during which time it could seek a buyer for the campus who would be willing to guarantee the conditions voted.......
Southgate District Civic Trust has sent Enfield Council a nomination to list the Fox pub in Palmers Green as an Asset of Community Value. The application, sent last week, refers to the Fox's history, its role as a community hub, its prominent location and imposing architecture.

In a recent message to its supporters the Pinkham Way Alliance (PWA) provided an update on its continuing fight on two fronts: on the one hand, it is still campaigning to prevent, or at any rate minimise, the development of Pinkham Wood; on the other hand, it continues to oppose what it considers overly grandiose plans by the North London Waste Authority for future waste incinerator capacity.
Pinkham Wood
The land referred to as Pinkham Wood is adjacent to the Pinkham Way section.......

People who were in the vicinity of the former Southgate Town Hall early this morning have mentioned that something unusual seemed to be happening - there was a distinct buzz of activity. One of our sources was told that when demolishing an internal wall workers came across some sort of old manuscript and that a Mr Goole got in contact with the Council to report the find. However, when we tried later this morning to talk to the people working on the building, they seemed very.......
