In celebration of their 23rd birthday, join Enfield Poets for an afternoon-long literary party of poetry, performance and film on 13th January at the newly reopened (and rechristened) Dugdale Arts Centre. Special guests will be celebrated poet and author Maggie Brookes-Butt, and winner of the Costa Poetry Award and Costa Book of the Year 2021, Hannah Lowe. A feature in this month's Enfield Dispatch under the headline 'Putting Palmers Green on the page' about another recently published novel set in PG!

A mysterious introduction to the unusual plot of a newly published novel in a fiction category that I hadn't heard of before, but is, it seems, an established genre: a medico-legal thriller. It also belongs to what I can with confidence assume to be a vanishingly small category: novels where the action takes place in Palmers Green.

Writing Room is the new name for what was previously known as Collage Writing Room and before that as Haringey Literature Live. It was originally just what it calls itself - a large room in a 1970s office block behind Wood Green bus garage, but in the spring of 2020 it went virtual, using Zoom, and has remained online ever since.

A trio of Palmers Green authors were out on the street in Green Lanes last weekend selling signed copies of their comic novel, Work in Progress, hot off the press. Thanks to a massive crowdfunding effort by some 250 supporters, their dream of getting the book published is no longer a work in progress - and it's already attracting rave reviews.
