sunday shed genericChickenshed has opened booking for the autumn season of Sunday Shed workshops for kids, whether little or big (ages 5 to 18). These are drop-in sessions designed to spark an interest in many aspects of performance - acting, dance, music - and develop skills and confidence (not to mention having a lot of fun on the side).

Sunday Shed: Weekly drop-in workshop sessions for ages 5 - 18

 

Little Spark! for ages 5-7yrs at 9.30am – 11am

 

Spark for ages 8–11yrs at 11.15am – 12.45pm

Price : £8 per weekly session

Each week’s drop-in workshop is designed as a stand-alone session, which will include elements of Drama, Music and Art. These workshops will enable children to have fun and ‘spark’ their imagination to explore theatre.


Performance project for ages 7-11yrs at 1.15pm-3.15pm

Price: £12 per weekly session

This project is designed to combine and develop music, dance and singing skills.

The project will run over two terms and lead to a live performance with lights, music and costumes in front of a live audience in Chickenshed’s Rayne Theatre in March 2022


Acting Project for ages 12-18yrs at 1.15pm-3.15pm

Price £12 per weekly session

A programme of workshops, scripted work and rehearsals centring around the themes of Propaganda and Fake News. Inspired by the classic novel 1984, this is suitable for all young people with any previous experience.

The project will run over two terms and lead to a live performance with lights, music and costumes in front of a live audience in Chickenshed’s Rayne Theatre in March 2022


Dance Project for ages 16+ at 3.30pm-5.30pm

Price: £12 per session

A programme of workshops and rehearsals learning and devising dance pieces in a wide variety of dance styles including Street, Contemporary and Physical theatre.

This project leads to a live performance with lights, music and costumes in front of an audience in Chickenshed’s Rayne Theatre.


Music Tech Workshops for ages 12-18yrs at 11.15am-12.45pm

Price: £10 per session

Perfect for budding songwriters, beatmakers and musicians, these workshops are designed to develop participants’ skills in lyric and melody writing and awareness and use of technology in music creation.

The sessions will involve working with GarageBand on iPads and Macs in Chickenshed’s recording studio. Participants will be able to take away recordings of their pieces to continue to develop them further at home.
