Bogus TPS (Telephone Preference Service) callers targeting the elderly.
The police are urging residents to be on their guard after receiving reports of bogus telephone calls where the caller claims to be from the “Telephone Preference Service / Agency” (TPS).
The callers claim they can now help block calls from outside the UK as part of a new campaign they are running for elderly residents.
The caller claims they would like “to confirm details of your TPS registration”.......
Artist Gabriela Schutz has been working on two detailed panoramas of shopfronts and houses in Myddleton Road, Bowes Park, executed in pencil, and each 7.2 metres long. They will go on show at Bruce Castle Museum in May.

Everyone's Climbing Tree - described as "magical" by the young people who benefit from its workshops and wonderful encouraging spirit - is working towards raising £10,000 to refurbish and expand its base close to Alexandra Park Station.
ECT, as it's known, is running a fundraising event this coming Sunday, from 3pm to 9pm, featuring its unique mix of events for people of all ages. You can just drop in or reserve places in workshops online.
