St Harmonica's Blues Club: Big Mama's Door

Always one of our favourite bands and no better way to usher in St Patrick’s Weekend than with Big Mama’s Door. The weekend always starts on a Friday evening and there is no-one better than this band to get you in the mood for celebrations. Fiona McElroy is over from Ireland for a few days to front her band which comprises the usual top drawer musicians with Francesca and Bradley Shaw on double bass and drums, Andy Knight on guitar, Martin Dewhirst on sax and Stephen Walsh on piano. Big Mama's Door regularly play their brand of sexy 50s RnB, jazz and soul with a whole lot of professionalism and love to sold out venues. They play an eclectic mix of originals and covers that will lift your spirits and get you moving.

There is a great support duo too in the forms of Chris Hargrave and John Clare stepping out out from their day jobs with the Latest Flames and Doc K’s Blues Band to bring us a set of Americana and roots originals to St Harmonica’s; not ‘art pop pickers!

Chris & John will play at 8.30pm followed by two sets from Big Mama’s Door starting just after 9.00pm. See you there.

2024 Membership Cards are available on the door @ £10 for the year. Admission is free to card carrying members to all Friday Blues evenings and Sunday Jam nights. We just ask for a contribution into the hat to go towards the musicians’ fees.
