Following the preliminary engagement earlier this year regarding the introduction of more 20mph streets in the borough, Enfield Council has now launched a statutory consultation about its plans for three town centres: Palmers Green, Southgate and Edmonton.

Is the proposal for a 'new town' in the north of Enfield borough 'a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us to change lives and help families grow and thrive', as council leader Ergin Erbil describes it, or 'a cause for great alarm', the view taken by the Enfield Society?

Local teens are the stars of a new video filmed in Broomfield Park with the aim of raising funds for the campaign to Make Space for Girls. All donations made between 8th and 15th October will be doubled by sponsors.
