Next week the Dugdale Centre will be presenting a play written by an Enfield resident designed to alert young people and their parents and teachers about some of the dangers that thoughtless use of online social media can cause.

A play to be performed this week at the Dugdale Centre traces the lives of two notable women from Edmonton - one thought to be a witch, the other a saint.
Calling it a "play" doesn't really do it justice - The Determined and the Damned includes especially written lyrics, a live band, films clips and animation.
Local theatre group InterACTion has assembled a cast of 25 people to present the two lives. Three different actors play the "witch", three more the "saint". Reflecting.......

"I would love to but would feel far too embarrassed". "I think it would be great fun but I don't have the confidence to actually do it".
What would your response be if someone asked you to participate in a drama class? The trouble is, our 4-year-old self probably wouldn't respond, as they'd be into that class quicker than you can say 'Shakespeare'.

Despite the name, Finchley & Friern Barnet Operatic Society, or FFBOS for short, is based in Enfield borough, rehearsing in New Southgate and performing at the Intimate Theatre in Palmers Green.
The next FFBOS show - the classic musical Mack and Mabel - opens at the Intimate on 12th October and runs until the 15th.
The opening night will be a gala performance in aid of Cherry Lodge Cancer Care in Barnet. One of the guests will be Elaine Page, who is Honorary President of FFBOS.

Saturday sees the start of the first ever Lamb Festival, a week of free events in All Saints Church, Edmonton, to commemorate the lives and work of Edmonton's most celebrated literary siblings - Charles and Mary Lamb.
All the events are free (though donations are welcomed). They include:

The internationally renowned theatre company Complicité are coming to Palmers Green to run a series of theatrical storytelling workshops for women aged 65 or over, and are encouraging people with no previous experience in the performing arts to join. They're running a taster session at the Ruth Winston Centre on Tuesday 26th September ahead of the three workshops in October, also on Tuesday afternoons at Ruth Winston.
