Photographic Exhibition: Catching the Light 2

Saturday 4 December 2021 and Sunday 5 December 10.00am - 4.00pm

North London Hospice Enfield, 110 Barrowell Green, N21 3AY

catching the light 2

This exhibition features photographic prints taken between May and September 2020 by five members of the Catching the Light Photography Group.

Following the resounding success of the first exhibition launched in 2019, the group were invited in March 2020 to further extend both their technical skills and their personal style of picture-making through the pursuit of  a subject, theme or technique of their own choice.

2020 was a year full of unprecedented changes, yet it offered opportunities to reflect in the moment. The selection and mixing of the pictures is intended to set up a dynamic interplay between the images, whilst also presenting the creativity and diversity of the photographers'  chosen paths: appreciation of the natural world close up and from a distance; "seeing the ordinary differently"; "the architecture of my career", and "people in all our myriad glorious differences".

All photographs have been taken by North London Hospice Health and Wellbeing Centre service users and their carers. All photographs will be available to buy during and after the event.

The group is made up of patients, family members, carers and bereaved relatives, all with a common creative interest in photography. There will be some work for sale and a chance to see what our Compassionate Neighbour knitting group have been doing. All displays are on the ground floor and you can expect to need about 30 minutes to wander around.

We will need to meet Covid 19 guidelines including evidence of a lateral flow in the previous 48 hours – this can be shown via text message, email or the NHS App and mask-wearing on arrival (unless exempt) prior to entering the main body of the building. We are extremely grateful for our visitors support in these circumstances.

If any visitor including patient/carer cannot show evidence of a lateral flow being completed in the previous 48 hours and is not willing to undertake a lateral flow task on site, they will not be allowed into the building.
